Kaylee was 15 when she started working at Maccas in Victoria.
Now, at age 20, she’s still there. But the shifts are drying up.
“I enjoy the job, but it’s just so hard to get shifts there when you’re not a teenager.”
If anything, your career should be going forwards as you get older… not the other way around.
That’s what led Kaylee to completing SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail at Duke.
She wanted a career that helped her move in the right direction.
“I had some reservations at first, because I was never really a ‘school’ person. But the fact it was conversation-based was a huge help.”
“I also loved how I could change the speed of the conversation to suit my flow. That made it so easy to work through.”
Now, having completed her retail course with ease, Kaylee is ready for that career change.
Who knows? Maybe she’ll even end up working in an industry that rewards more experience instead of punishing it.
Go get ‘em, Kaylee!
